DISCAUX
Explore Discaux: a fusion of auxetics, 3D printing, and performance fashion. Designed for bold expression and movement, each piece showcases innovative materials and sustainable design, crafted to shine under lights and stretch with the body.
Discaux is a fashion-tech project that reimagines performance wear through the lens of auxetic geometry, sustainability, and expressive design. Using 3D-printed, mono-material TPU structures, the garments are flexible, breathable, and visually bold, designed to stretch with the body while reflecting light dynamically on stage. Originally developed for drag performers, Discaux now aims to support a broader range of entertainers seeking innovative, sustainable fashion.
Throughout the project, the development process emphasized iteration, collaboration, and cross-disciplinary thinking. Skills in digital modeling, material experimentation, and rapid prototyping were refined using tools such as Clo3D and Processing. The project also encouraged a deeper understanding of user identity and inclusivity, focusing on how clothing can both perform functionally and express individuality.
In addition to exploring aesthetic and technical innovation, the project engaged critically with sustainability challenges in the fashion industry. This led to the proposal of a circular business model, including TPU recycling from universities, and the introduction of rental and resale systems to reduce waste. Discaux represents a shift toward ethical performance fashion, combining creative ambition with practical, user-centered design strategies.
